Durban-based SA Van Conversions, a leading vehicle conversion company specializing in OE-accredited projects across South Africa and the SADC region, partnered with Stage Audio Works to create a fully AV-equipped mobile facility for the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board Maritime Centre of Excellence (KZN Sharks Board). This innovative mobile unit is used for live demonstrations, including the dissection of shark species, providing audiences with educational insights into shark sensory biology and their critical role as marine predators.
Stage Audio Works was tasked with designing and installing a complete AV solution for the touring truck, which transforms into a full stage featuring an integrated PA system and a large video screen. For this project, Stage Audio Works specified a Plus Audio and Pixel Plus solution to deliver high-quality audio and video, enhancing audience engagement, particularly among younger generations.
Following consultations with SA Van Conversions and the KZN Sharks Board, Stage Audio Works selected the compact Plus Audio Li-series for the sound system, known for its excellent quality-to-price ratio and suitability for the project. The setup includes four L208 loudspeakers and two L118 subwoofers per side, arranged in left and right stacks, along with a pair of Plus Audio monitors. The system is powered by a Plus Audio 4-channel amplifier with onboard DSP, delivering robust and reliable performance for this unique mobile educational experience.
